All the events around the exhibition

The exhibition Van Gogh. I colori della vita, which will take place in the Centro San Gaetano in Padua, from the 10th October 2020, motivated me to create a vast programme of collateral events, as I have often loved to do in the past. On this occasion, given that we are celebrating the twenty-fifth anniversary of the founding of Linea d’ombra, the overall project is certainly broader and ranges from a series of lectures to conferences, books, concerts and many exhibitions looking more closely at Van Gogh’s work. More activities will be added in the coming months, such as showings of the various films that have been made over the last decades on the great Dutch artist. In addition, there will be conferences led by prestigious international figures and concerts. I would like this exhibition, which is opening in a few months in Padua, to become an unforgettable experience for everyone, especially because of the beauty of the works and the entire cultural project revolving around it.

I am delighted to launch this programme with a course of four lectures, which will retrace the movements of Van Gogh’s entire life, following the thread of the five exhibition sections. It will be an opportunity for me to offer new insights to the public on this extraordinary person. Then, in October, Linea d’ombra will host the ‘Van Gogh Week’, when the Centro San Gaetano will be turned into Van Gogh’s temple. Some dear friends, art historians and world’s leading experts on the work of Van Gogh, will be coming from Holland to give their lectures and provide an international point of view to this project. The texts of their lectures will also be published. Then there will be concerts by four great performers: Alice, Capossela, Cristicchi and Branduardi, and exhibitions of some of the best contemporary Italian painters, each one with a wonderful catalogue. And much more to follow.
