A very special concert with a rarefied, spiritual atmosphere. A major tribute to one of the most extraordinary Italian singer-songwriters, Franco Battiato. The concert begins the series of four, a unique and unrepeatable event, to be held as part of the exhibition on Van Gogh and his time. Alice, pseudonym of Carla Bissi, will be accompanied on the piano by Carlo Guaitoli, Battiato’s original pianist. Alice is one of the few able to authentically and elegantly pay tribute to the Sicilian musician because she was his friend and associate right from the outset and because of the artistic affinity that always linked them, making Alice a unique and exceptional performer of the great singer-songwriter’s music.

Alice released her first album Capo Nord in 1980, which included the very successful single Il vento caldo dell’estate. In 1981 she won the Sanremo Festival with Per Elisa, marking the beginning of continuous international renown, especially in Germany. In 1982 she released Azimut and the following year Falsi allarmi. In 1984 she performed I treni di Tozeur with Franco Battiato. In 1985 she won the Tenco Prize as best female performer. In 1986 and 1987 she released, in sequence, the albums Park hotel and Elisir. There have been many successes since then, including, for example, winning the German critics’ award “Goldenen Europa”. Her Viaggio in Italia was released in 2003 and in 2009 the first live CD, Lungo la strada, recorded in the San Marco basilica, Milan. The CD Samsara came out in 2012 with new songs written for her by Tiziano Ferro, including Nata ieri. The same CD features Alice’s interpretation of Il cielo by Lucio Dalla. In 2016 she took part in a major tour with Battiato and orchestra, while in 2018 she accompanied Ron as guest at Sanremo, singing a duet with him on Almeno pensami by Lucio Dalla.
